I have been feeling for a really long time that I need to keep a journal of the moments/experiences that I am thankful for in my life. This blog will be a way of capturing these moments and will hopefully inspire me to contemplate the many blessings i've been given which deserve an expression of gratitude.

My Story to my Son

Yesterday while I was folding clothes, I set Skyler down next to me and told him a story. He lovingly cooed at me as we made eye contact and I told him about him the story of him being our loving example of faith. The Story goes like this:
When I got pregnant last October, Jordan gave me a blessing and in it, it told me that we would give birth to a son. We were both thrilled at the thought of having a baby boy, and a little surprised at a blessing being so direct. So it came as a bit of shock, when only 11 weeks pregnant, Jordan and I discovered that the baby had no heart beat. At first I was confused at why this had happened when we had been promised a beautiful son, but very quickly my feelings changed as Jordan and I felt very strongly impressed that we would still raise the same spirit but that this body we were forming was not healthy; not the right one for our son. What a beautiful day it was, when we went to the ultra sound after getting pregnant again and the tech telling us, "you have a son!" We cried humble and happy tears as the spirit confirmed to us that blessings are true, and we are having our promised son! At Christmas time we blessed Skyler and in it the blessing in told him that his body would be a blessing to him through out his life. I think I will always tease Skyler that he must have made me start over when forming his body because he was very particular about having big muscles :O) Today I am grateful for the many blessings of the spirit and I am so grateful for my son!
